Hello! My name is Harvey (Rudy) Rudell and I am owner and manager of Great Lakes Emu Products. We have been raising Emu since 1985. We were one of the very first to raise these remarkable birds in the U.S.A. I was one of the organizers of the Great Lakes Emu Association, which included members from the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin. Due to expanding membership,each of these states now has their own state association and are affiliates of the American Emu Association. I was elected as the first President of the Michigan Emu Association, and am presently serving as President. I was also a continual officer on the board of directors for Great Lakes Emu Association and served as President and Vice-President. Before getting into breeding and raising emu and other exotic birds and animals, I was in the Cosmetics and Hair Replacement business for thirty plus years. Although I cannot claim to be one of the very first to come out with my own emu oil products, I could have been, if it weren't for the fact it has taken me several years in developing and testing my products to make sure they are the finest emu oil products available. I feel my background in the cosmetic business, and for several years being on a products testing panel (where I was sent new products from some of the major cosmetic companies to use and evaluate) has been very valuable in helping me bring to you the best emu oil products available.
